Need some info about which s-type to get. The coast here gets fairly choppy and sail from about 15 knots upwards. My sail sizes are 6.5 Ezzy Infinity, 5.8, 5.2 and 4.5 Ezzy Wave.
My weight is about 82kg and my height is 5'8". I have been sailing a long time so I am fairly competent. Mainly used for open water blasting and downwind runs. I can't decide whether to get the 115, 104 or 93. Any info would be much appreciated.

I would go with the 93 if the biggest you are going to use is 6.5. You will like it the best when you are on your smaller sizes. I am about the same size and weight so should work out great.

Hi Kevin (sorry for my english, I'm from France),
My question is the same as Neil, but I'm about 10 kgs heavyer. My program is quite the same, and my bigest sail will be a Saber 6.2 for this board. (I'v get as well a 7.3 sail, but I prefer to use it with my 125 liter board)
Thanks for your advices

Jerome,

I would say go with the 93 or the 104> If you already have the 125 then maybe it is best to go with the 93. Either board i am sure you will be happy with!

I would go with the 115. I think you will use it more with your weight and this board can jump and go pretty dang fast.

My question is the same: I??m 1,70 m and my weight is around 65 kg and my boad is a Hypersonic 105. My sails are NP 5,7 for wind speed more than 20 knots and another one is a Severne 8,0 for wind speed lower than 20. I??m wondering to change to S-type 93 or Isonic 94. What is your advice? Thank you very much. Sansei.

Hi Kevin

I'm 1,80m and my weight is 70kgs, I'm looking for a superfast and easy board that could handle my NeilPryde V6 7,5, and still use it with a 6 or 6,5 cambered sail I have yet to buy for stronger winds... (the most used sail would be the 6 or 6,5 though)
do you think the Stype 115 is large enough for the 7,5 at my weight, or should I go for a bigger model ?

The Stype 115 seems good to me but the documentation says it only handles sails up to 7,2

Yes go with the 115. I have used the 115 with 7.5 all summer last year with great sucess. I am 80kg.

Get this board. You will love it.

Hi,

I am about 82kgs and current have a 2005 model S-type 104, Kombat 85 and EV0 74. My sails are Saber 6.7m, 6.2m, Expression 5.7m, Alpha 5.4m, Combat 5.0m & 4.5m. Where I mostly sail is on bay, only a couple streets up from where Ian Fox sails.

I am currently thinking about upgrading some or all my boards. I love the S-Type and EVO. My plan is to maybe keep the EVO 74 for the 5.0m and 4.5m sails. What I am confused about is what size S-type should I go for that suits my weight and the 6.7m and 6.2m sails? I noticed the 2007 model states a smaller sail size range.

Also I would like a board in between the S-Type and the EVO that I can try and learn freestyle with the 5.7m and use the 5.4m when the swells gets up for some semi wave riding?

Any suggestions would help.

You are asking for quite a big range of sail sizes. For the 5.7 5.4 i would go with the Stype 93.. This board is really fun and can work with sails 6.2 and 6.7. For me who has the option, I personally like the 115 for sizes 6.2 and 6.7 but the 115 is definately not as good for the freestyle swells on a 5.4. From the sounds of it you could sell your 104 and get the 115 and the 93.

Kevin,

I ended up getting a 2007 model ST115 and a Kombat 97. :) With regards to the ST115, what footstrap settings and sail sizes do you use on your ST115?

Cool I am sure you will be stoked with your purchase!! For me I used the most forward and inside settings. I liked these setting because it was easier to spock and do forwards and stuff like that on the boards. If you want to just go fast and do chop hops then go with the straps on the outer position.

I used my 115 with 7.5 down to my Maui Sails Switch 5.6

One last question, what fin sizes do you use with your sails on the ST115?

I used the 32 cm fin as my biggest but I know you can go 36 freeride fin with this board.
