Default freewaves

Hi
Talking about the 86 freewave: Big difference to 2018 vs. 2017? or was it bitter from 2016 to 2017?

And the A.i.r. freewave? ist this a better waveboard?

Hi Unregistered,

The Kode FreeWaves were unchanged from 2016 to 2017. We updated them this year (2018) and they will stay unchanged in 2019. We will update again in 2020.

So no difference between the 2016 and 2017 shapes, only construction upgrades. And big difference between 2017 and 2018, with the new shorter outlines, double concave distribution and fin.

The A.I.R. FreeWave is clearly more wave orientated but remains very, very fast. Because it's much shorter, it turns better than a Kode but has less directional stability when blasting in a straight line.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thank you and sorry. I was aware that 16 17 was the same. my question was whether the difference 15 to 16 was a bigger one compared to the change 17 to 18.....

Thank you again

Hi Unregistered,

I would say the biggest change was from 2015 to 2016, when we decided to emphasize the wave characteristics of the Kode FreeWaves and sacrificed the freestyle abilities. This involved new outlines, new thickness distributions, rails, fins, bottom shape and rocker.

In 2018, we refined the boards to improve them further. I would say without a doubt that the 2018 versions are an improvement over the 2015 models but the most noticeable change was indeed from 2015 to 2016 and not from 2017 to 2018.

Hope this helps you.

Thanks,
