Default 2007 Starboard Carve 133l

Hi,
I am considering buying a Starboard Carve 133 from 2007 Wood construction, legth 252cm, width 72cm, as my first shortboard. As I have been only windsurfing for 4 months so the stability of the board is my main concern. I have rented a 2015 Tabou Rocket 135l that has nearly the same dimensions 250x72 and it felt stable enough for me.

Is the board from 2007 going to feel very different from recent ones? Is it going to be slower to improve my sailing in the old Starboard Carve?

Thanks

Hi Vman,

We've hopefully made some improvements and progress on the boards over the last 10 years so I would definitely recommend the newer models. Without looking at all of the specific changes over the last 10 years on the Carve models, I can say the newer ones are more efficient, more user-friendly and lighter than in the past.

That being said, I think you'll still enjoy the 2007 version and will probably enjoy the 2017 model even more if and when you switch to it after learning on the older one.

Hope this helps and hope you have fun!

Thanks,
