Default Black Box vs Reactor

I use an 87 Black Box as my go to board for light winds. I team it with a 4.2 and at my weight (55kg) it's pretty big but absolutely fantastic on a wave, it turns just as well as my 60l Flare on a wave. When the first Reactor was released I noticed it looked the same shape as the Black Box. Can anyone tell me what the difference is? Just interested as I'm naturally curious about boards!

Hi Ruaraidh,

The tails are quite different, and so are the nose outline, the rocker, the fin placement and setup and a few other things. They do look quite similar as the Reactors are an evolution of the Black Box, but are more medium to high wind focused than the Black Boxes which were designed as light wind shredding machines.

Thanks,

Thanks!

So I guess the Reactors have more vee and rocker? Interesting.
