Default 2016 Futura vs 2016 Carve

Hello team, I am just going to post the question here since this is more of a design thing. This is also relevant to my post in the free for all section.

The 2016 CARVE 141 is 83.5cm wide, 251cm long, 51.2 tail width with Freeride 46 Fin.
The 2016 FUTURA 134 is 80.5cm wide, 247cm long, 49.7 tail width with Slalom 46 Fin.

Yet, the CARVE 141 handles a slightly smaller sail (6.0 to 9.5)
While the FUTURA 134 is 6.5-10.0

What's the story on this? If using a 6.5m or 7.0m sail (say, 17 knots), can the futura still be sailed assuming water is flat or very slight chop only? Or in other words, what to expect and what to do? Is downsizing fin really necessary? (offshore wind)

Sailor objectives: 82kg, in footstraps, can waterstart, still learning to carve gybe, will sail exclusively on 12-17knots only, wanting just 1 board and 2 sail combination (7.0 and 8.5)

Aside from the CARVE 141 & FUTURA 134, any better board for the above objective? Yes, I love a more colorful board (atomiq?). :-)
