Default Inflatable windsup blows a seam

Thank God I was not out in water over my head! Inflated board to rec pressure (18psi just into the green zone) Put my 7.0 sail on and headed out (5th time I've used this board for anything) sailed out about 100 meters (in Hatteras) POP! blew right at the seam about 25 cm from the nose. Didn't hit anything, carried inflated board to the water before use...of course it's outta warranty by a couple months. Now if I fix it ,will it do it again this time when I'm far from shore? I don't think I'll use it again for windsurfing I'm to paranoid.....

Hi,

Get in touch with your shop/distributor of your country to fill a warranty claim ASAP. Do not wait and do not fix it yourself for now.

A life span of only 5 usages is clearly not normal to me.

Cheers !

Hi Spunner,

I confirm, please get in touch with your Starboard or importer to fill a warranty. Fixing this by yourself will not work in the long run and there seem to be issues with the seams on your inflatable WindSUP.

Thanks,

Unhappy

Well it appears Trident Sports(Canadian Distributor) is not going to do anything for me because warranty just lapsed, they have sent it along to Starboard International to see if they can do anything for me. Cross my fingers, if not I have a 25lb hunk of vinyl to dispose of.

Hi Spunner,

I can confirm that I haven't received anything from Trident.
I think they meant Albert, who handles our inflatable warranty issues.

It usually takes a few days to process claims so look for a reply in the coming week.

Thanks,

UPDATE: Trident Sports has told me they will warranty my iwindsup. I was told to cut old board into 3 pieces and send them a picture with the serial #. Was told replacement will be shipped to me in early August......nothing yet. Finally got a hold of the rep I was talking to and it has been handed over to someone else, he has been contacted but no response yet.

Default Update #2

Had been having trouble getting answers from Trident Sports, so went to the top...Pum @ Starboard has been extremely helpful and has decided to oversee my case personally. This is great news and I thank him for being so helpful.
I will keep updating when things happen.
