Default Carve 101 versus older Carve 111

Hi. I'm looking for input on how much better I might like a Carve 101 versus my older 2001 Carve 111. I weight 75 kg. I'm looking for an "all around" B&J board suitable for choppy 5.7 - 6.5 conditions in Buzzard's Bay Massachusetts...and once I get through the chop and work my way several miles upwind and offshore I want to have fun in the swells out in the middle too. I'm guessing the 101 is more suitable for my desires and my advanced skill level. Note: I have a 144 liter big board for lighter winds, and several (too many) small boards for 5.2 and windier. Thanks!

BTW: It seems that the server with the old posts from previous years from the Star Bulletin Board is not working. Is there any way for me to access these old posts? Specifically I'm looking for these threads that do show up using the pico search function--but I'm not able to view the bodies of the threads.

Default RE: Carve 101 versus older Carve 111

Hi Vincent,

Considering your larger board, rider weight, and intended sail sizes for this new choice , the C101 would definitely be a more responsive and funner ride than the C111, which tends to be a size used more for lighter freeride or big guys "one size".

A wildcard option to consider is the Kombat 97, not quite as freeride efficent as the Carve101 and a little less bottom end and "upwind" ability, but in that sail range for your weight would be a super enjoyable B&J solution. (K97 one of the standouts in the 2007 range)

Re the older Forums and search results, yes, we have some issues onthat and will resolve ASAP. Please excuse any inconvenience while that is resolved.

Cheers ~ Ian
